Due Diligence Checking Ltd (DDC)
Important Update: Reiki Tradition Partners with
Due Diligence Checking Ltd (DDC)
Reiki Tradition School of Reiki is proud to announce a new partnership with Due Diligence Checking Ltd (DDC), a leading provider of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. This collaboration strengthens our commitment to safeguarding, professionalism, and the highest standards of practice across our school, our practitioners, and our wider Reiki community. Access to this enhanced DBS checking service is exclusively available to students, practitioners, and members of Reiki Tradition School of Reiki. It is also a requirement for all Reiki Tradition School of Reiki accredited and qualified graduates who intend to work with children or vulnerable adults to hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate.
Understanding DBS Checks
A DBS check (formerly CRB) is an official review of an individual’s criminal record, carried out by the Disclosure and Barring Service. These checks support safe and responsible practice, especially when working with children, adults, or vulnerable groups. Depending on the level of check, the certificate may include:
-
Convictions
-
Cautions
-
Reprimands
-
Warnings
-
Relevant local police information
-
Confirmation of whether an individual is barred from working with children and/or adults
Types of DBS Checks
-
Basic DBS Check: Shows unspent convictions only.
-
Standard DBS Check: Shows spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings from the Police National Computer (PNC).
-
Enhanced DBS Check: Shows all information in the Standard check plus relevant local police information.
A barred list check can also be added for those working in regulated activity.
Reiki Tradition School of Reiki uses Enhanced DBS Checks for students, practitioners, and members where appropriate.
